Trader of Lies

Bonjour!

Mesdames and Messieurs,

Before you ask

Pardon me for being impolite

But you’ve come to my town

And let me tell you

That I don’t trade love here

But I do sell lies

Here everyone is cunning in manipulating minds

Mon ami, I shall warn you and your lady first

That here lies do captivate your attention

And you get addicted to its hypnotic touch

But don’t you fall for such sweet words,

There’s a trap in every path you take

Cause once you step in this,

You go round and round in circles

Sinking in an endless loop

Soon you’ll become a puppet

Controlled by a delusional fool

Don’t place your bets here,

I’m a whimsical gambler of the high tides

You’ll surely lose your winning streak,

Just to break mine

I see,

You trust me

But what have I told you before?

You do remember my warnings, right?

Helas, what can I say more

As I’ve already done my part

Au revoir, now I will take my leave

And do remember me as a novice

Not a philosopher of any type,

Oh mon cheri, I don’t trade love here

But I do sell lies

– Shubhangi Rawat

  1. Beautifully expressed! Your poem seems to be the embodiment of the thoughts of con men everywhere! Someone once told me, “I am a bad person!” I wish I had believed him! It was an expensive lesson. 🙂 Have a great day, Shubhi! Cheryl

  2. No matter if some one searches for his vital thing, therefore he/she wants to be available that in detail,
so that thing is maintained over here.
